Dear World Armwrestling Championship Countries and Competitors:   

    The Thunder Bay Giant Armwrestling club is honored to present and welcome you and your country to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada for the 1998 World Armwrestling Championships.  Thunder Bay, better known as the Land of the Sleeping Giant, is located in the center of Canada at mile zero of the St. Lawrence Seaway. It is home to 120 000 of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Thunder Bay is also known as one of Canada's premier event hosting sites where we have hosted such reputable World events as the 1995 Nordic Ski Championships and the 1998 World Junior Curling Championships.

    We encourage you to take part in what we promise to be a spectacular Armwrestling Championship. The competition will be great, and the fellowship will create memories that we will all cherish for years to come. The event will also include the World Championships for the disabled.

    Once again, the City of Thunder Bay and the Thunder Bay Giant Armwrestling Club are honored to be hosting this most prestigious World athletic event. We look forward to hosting your country and its athletes in our beautiful and friendly city. Join us in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada from October 16 through the 25th, 1998, for the best ever World Armwrestling Championships.
