                                                                       JUNE 2000

Well after a months negotiations and numerous meetings the New Zealand Armsports Association in their monthly meeting have voted to become affiliated with IAF. Their President Mr. Eru Tahuri will be the IAF Director for New Zealand.  His e-mail address is ej.house@xtra.co.nz.  If you would like to drop him an e-mail welcoming him and his association to IAF that would be a great start for both Federations.

Keeping in the same frame of thought I would like to take this time to introduce a couple of new State Director to IAF.  The first will be the State Director from Connecticut.  His name is Joshua Stark from New Britain, CT.  Joshua has been pulling for 13 years and has always tried to make as many contests as possible no matter who is putting them on or where. Joshua runs a training Session in CT where he lends his experience to try and help people interested in the Sport.   With the other party we really get a bargain, two for the price of one. Harry & Priscilla Bean from Gilford, NH.  Harry & Priscilla have been around it seems forever because they go everywhere to compete. They are always the first ones to offer a helping hand with anything that might need to be done.  Harry & Priscilla also runs a training session at their home for new & old pullers alike.  All three of these armwrestlers are good competitors and display nothing but the best side of Armwrestling.  They will make a great addition to the IAF family of armwrestlers.  When ever you see them next besure to introduce yourself and congratulate them. Joshua e-mail address is starkie@earthlink.com.

                                                        RESULTS

Bikers Armwrestling Championship.  Held at the Broken Spoke in Laconia, NH.  There were 53 pullers on hand.  Amidst all the roar of the engines and the smell of burning rubber we somehow managed to run the event. Full house as for spectator, not so for pullers. A lot of the Bikers were hesitant about pulling, but were there to cheer on whoever did compete.  We had some pretty close and tough matches during the competition.  Just 43 days prior there was a dirt lot where the tournament was held, now a Saloon with numerous Bikes on display to a large tent with live music all day long. Also there were booth set up to display articles for sale and a mechanical bull for any daring soul.  We met Bikers from as far away as California.
