Bill Cox, President

International Armwrestling Federation

I first started armwrestling in tournaments in 1978, My first contest was a real shock. Not only didn't I win the contest but I didn't even win one match.

My training began with Al Turner in 1978. I worked with Al refereeing and promoting contests. In 1982 I became a director for AAA. I promoted the Nationals in 1988 and 1989 and was supposed to do the World's in 1990 but the association I was involved with saw fit to take it away after differences of opinion.

In 1990 I formed the International Armwrestling Federation (IAF) . The IAF runs tournaments on the East Coast with members from Canada to Florida. All of our directors are armwrestlers with many years of experience in the sport.

Our goal is the promotion of the sport of armwrestling as a family sport where the entire family can compete at the same contest. Our Ultimate Goal is to someday see armwrestling in the Olympics.

The IAF puts out a monthly newsletter for its members. We run sanctioned contests all year and we have a championship based on points each year. Our newsletter covers all contests plus results that are sent to us regardless which association is running the event.

I have been married for 35 years and have one son and two grandchildren.
